LEAD Academy Innovation Camp

**Registration Instructions: To add your child to the interest list, click the green button labeled "ADD TO WAITLIST". All applicants are defaulted to the waitlist. If accepted into the program, you will be notified Friday, May 17th. 

The LEAD Academy Innovation Camp is free for incoming 5th and 6th grade students for the 2024-25 school year. Funded through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, it is designed to offer students opportunities to explore their strengths and interests and align them with potential careers in the future world of work. Students will participate in hands-on career exploration activities, including design challenges to solve real-world problems. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided. 

The highest priority is given to students identified as "unduplicated" (foster youth, unsheltered, students living in motels/hotels, temporarily doubled up, students in temporary shelters, English language learners, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students). After the highest priority students are registered, additional students will be registered on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

The LEAD Academy Innovation Camp's home base will be the Sound Station at 1301 Oleander Avenue in Chula Vista. Students, based on their grades, will take field trips to the Energy, Hydro, and Innovation Stations across Chula Vista.

Campamento Innovador de la Academia LEAD es gratuito para los estudiantes de 5º y 6º grado para el ciclo escolar 2024-25.Financiado a través del Programa de Oportunidades de Aprendizaje Extendido, está diseñado para ofrecer a los estudiantes oportunidades para explorar sus fortalezas e intereses y alinearlos con posibles carreras en el mundo laboral del futuro. Los estudiantes participarán en actividades prácticas de exploración de carreras, incluidos desafíos de diseño para resolver problemas del mundo real. Se ofrecen desayunos, almuerzos y refrigerios.

Se dará la más alta prioridad a los estudiantes identificados como “contados una sola vez en su categoría” (jóvenes en hogares de crianza temporal, estudiantes sin hogar, estudiantes aprendices de inglés y estudiantes con desventajas socioeconómicas). Después de que se inscriban los estudiantes de mayor prioridad, se inscribirán estudiantes adicionales por orden de llegada.

La base de operaciones del Campamento Innoovador de la Academia LEAD será la Sound Station en 1301 Oleander Avenue en Chula Vista. Los estudiantes, basado en sus calificaciones, realizarán excursiones a Energy Station, Hydro Station e Innovation Station en Chula Vista.
